Humans

The undisputed rulers of the world of Artharak are the Humans. They embody strength, unity, and devotion. United under the banner of the Father-Emperor, the Humans are driven by unwavering faith in his power and authority. The Emperor, a reincarnated god, carries within him a divine spark. He led his people from darkness and guided them to prosperity through enlightenment and determination. He is the Spiritual Leader, the Supreme Ruler, and his will is law. Faith in him unites the nation, granting the chosen ones magical abilities and blessing the warriors with victories. All of this, they believe, comes from the heavens as a reward for their loyalty and sacrifices.

The people of Artharak, living under a theocratic dictatorship, see their faith as the meaning of life. Their world is strictly structured, and everyone knows their place — from the simple farmer to the High Inquisitor. All strive to serve the Father-Emperor, knowing that only he can protect them from external threats — the Elves, who turned away from humanity in its darkest days, and the Orcs, who dare to sow seeds of doubt and dissent.

Elves

The Elves are the chosen people of Artharak. Their Goddess has granted them long life, immunity to disease, and, most importantly, magic. The Elves of Artharak have long distanced themselves from Humans, whom they see as weaker and less wise. Now, they live deep within the forests, preserving what remains of their ancient democratic traditions.

To the Elves, freedom is sacred, and the greatest disgrace among their people is submission to tyranny. This is why the Elves hold deep contempt for Humans, who have fully surrendered to the will of the Father-Emperor. In the eyes of the Elves, the Humans’ abandonment of democracy and embrace of strict theocracy is nothing short of a fall from grace. They have long believed that it is easier to eradicate Humans than to reform them. But for now, the Elves remain in hiding within their forests, knowing that war is inevitable. Their once-beautiful forest now borders toxic swamps, poisoned long ago by ancient wars—a constant reminder that the shadow of conflict looms ever closer.

Orcs

Orcs are rarely seen on the surface of Artharak. For centuries, they have been enslaved by humans, born and dying deep within the Emerald Mines. There, they’ve managed to build a small but tight-knit community, where every orc stands united with their kin. Their people have long prayed to Valefar, begging for the strength to break free from their hated bondage. All their songs and legends speak of dreams of freedom and a life under the sun of Artharak, where they could build a new future on the surface.

The merciful god has heard their prayers and granted them magic to rise against their oppressors. Now, they will carve their way to the surface with unrelenting force, breaking the chains that bind them along with the hands of their captors.

Familiars

In Artharak, certain animals are actively used for military purposes. These specially trained creatures are called Familiars. Humans deploy Battle Rams as a vanguard in assaults. Imperial hounds serve as trackers for the Confessors, while their fire-wielding mages, known as the Inquisition, often keep a pair of toads by their side. Elves, on the other hand, do not domesticate animals but are able to communicate with them. As a result, wild beasts stand side by side with elves in defense of the forest.

Orcs, having spent eternity in the deep caverns, lack the skill to work with animals. The only pets they keep are small emerald worms, but these creatures are far too tiny and useless in battle.
